Privacy Policy

Memorial Booklet makes funeral programs and orders of service at memorialbooklet.com. This policy explains what we collect, what we do not, and your choices. The product is built so that most of what you type never reaches us.
What stays on your device
The booklet is made in your web browser. The photos you add and everything you type (names, dates, the running order, the life story, the words you print) are processed and stored in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) on your device, so you can close the page and return. They are not uploaded to us. You can delete them at any time with "Clear everything and start a new booklet", or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
What we collect
- When you pay: the name of the person the booklet is for, the format, paper size and color choice, the number of copies you plan to print (if you give it), and your email address. We use these to take the payment, send the receipt and send a printing guide made for your format and paper.
- Payment details are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, security code or expiry date. We receive confirmation that the payment succeeded and a limited record for refunds and accounting.
- Your country is read from our hosting provider (Cloudflare) when the page loads, only to show the price in dollars or pounds and to suggest US Letter or A4 paper. It is not stored.
- A partner code: if you arrive through a partner's link, a first-party cookie keeps the partner's code for 30 days so the partner can be credited if you buy. It contains no personal information.
Analytics
We count visits with Fathom Analytics, which sets no cookies, collects no personal data and does not track you across sites. We cannot use it to identify you.
We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request.
Who processes data for us
Stripe (payments), Mailgun (sending the email with your printing guide), Cloudflare (hosting) and Fathom (cookieless visit counts). Each processes data only to provide its service.
How long we keep it
We keep the order record (name, format, email) for as long as needed to deliver the booklet and provide support, and as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete it at any time, subject to records we must keep by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and California law, you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within the time the law requires. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
The service is for adults and is not directed at children under 13. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Everything is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections, and card data is handled only by Stripe. Keeping the booklet and photos on your device means there is far less of your data for anyone to lose.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above.
